Certification and or Accreditation for you and your animal

Introduction to Animal-Assisted Activities in the Healthcare Profession is being offered to those that plan to volunteer or make Animal Assisted Activities in the Healthcare Profession a career choice. 

This course will cover

• Risk Management
• The basics of animal welfare
• The basics of animal behavior
• Legislation
• Program development
• Handler responsibilities
• Contingency plan
• Working in the Healthcare Profession
• Scheduling / Follow-Up
• Retirement

This is an eight hour course and includes class materials and In Training designated leash wrap.  At the completion of the course those that pass the test will get a certificate of completion. 

Those that pass the test, do at least twelve Animal Assisted Activities in a year, get three letters of recommendation and carry liability insurance will become Accredited. 

Animals used in the healthcare profession will be required to sit, lie down, stay, walk on a leash and other basic behaviors. Dogs will be assessed during class time. 

This class is recommended for those that plan to provide Education, Emotional Support, Therapy and or Service with their personal pets and animals. 

Cost is $250
